Make plans to bring your fire safe council members and any interested homeowners to one of four workshops to join the California Fire Safe Council and Farmers Insurance Group, and an array of interesting speakers for a “Disaster Prep- What's next?” workshop. These free workshops will be held throughout the state starting this July 2010.

“Disaster Prep: What’s Next?” will give landowners an overview of how to prepare their homes and property for this year’s fire and earthquake threats. The morning’s multihazard panel will feature speakers from the California Emergency Management Agency and the California Earthquake Authority. Representatives from fire safe councils throughout the region will discuss local emergency preparedness issues in the afternoon session. Time will be available for fire safe council members to network in the afternoon. The keynote speaker will be Pat Durland

You will also get to hear from Farmers Insurance Group agents and managers about their view the wildland fire problem, and you will get to take a tour of their mobile “Customer Care Vehicle”. Of course, it’s also an excellent opportunity to network with local fire agency personnel and FSCs, and possibly recruit Farmers agents and staff as volunteers for your own FSC.
