2002 Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grant Program
12/08/2003
Dear 2002 Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grant Recipients,
Congratulations on your participation in and completion of the 2002 Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grants Program. It has been a pleasure to work with your organizations during the past 18 months and to continually learn about the progress your projects have made throughout the state of California.
As you know, future funding for programs like the Community-Based Wildfire Prevention Grants Program depends upon accurate information about both the successes and challenges from grantees. Agencies participating in overseeing the program, including the Department of the Interior/Bureau of Land Management and California Fire Safe Council, are interested in both the statistical impact of the program (i.e. acres treated, dollar value of land protected, dollar value of partnership contributions, etc.) and anecdotal accomplishments. The enclosed final report questions attempt to capture your valuable insight and information about the overall program and your project. Your report will be due to the Foundation office by December 31, 2003.
The final progress report will also provide an opportunity to “tie up loose ends” with each of your projects. Please submit the following items with your final progress report:
- Four (4) copies of your final progress report, budget report, and accomplishment form
- Four (4) copies of any products generated by this program (i.e. brochures, newspaper inserts, flyers, newspaper articles, etc.). Provide photos of your project and include a photo caption that describes what each photo shows. (If you have the capacity to put your photos on disk or CD, please submit the photos in this format.) If no photos are available, explain why.
- Unless other arrangements have been previously approved, your project end date is November 30, 2003. Your final report will be due on December 31, 2003.
- Grantees will have until December 31, 2003 to finalize payment arrangements and to close project accounts. Please submit two (2) checks with your final report, made payable to the Sacramento Region Community Foundation, in the following manner: one (1) check will represent any unspent grant funds or remaining cash on hand, and one (1) check will represent any accrued interest income on the project (interest income earned by your organization that has accumulated on the granted funds since the first payment was distributed by the Foundation).
- If your organization has not submitted a past quarterly report, please submit this information with your final report. Contact the Foundation staff to verify whether you have any outstanding reports.
Please contact Arlene Wilson-Grant at (916) 492-6510 or arlene@sacregcf.org if you have any questions. Again, thank you for your local, regional, and statewide efforts.
Sincerely,
Janice Gow Pettey
Chief Executive Officer
