No: Create a defensible space by clearing all flammable vegetation around your home. Doing so will give firefighters a 30-foot safety zone to protect your home and greatly increase the chances of your home surviving a wildfire. This does not mean there must be a ring of bare dirt around your house. Planting and maintaining fire resistant plants that are strategically planted around your house can increase your property value and conserve water while beautifying your landscape. Creating and maintaining a defensible space is the number one action you can take protect your home from being destroyed in a wildfire.
2. Does your home have a fire resistant roof? (A fire resistant roof is made of non combustible material such as ceramic tile)
