The Carbon Canyon Fire Safe Council, Chino Valley Fire Department and the Chino Hills Police Department encourage Carbon Canyon Residents with special needs to complete this form so they can better serve you in the event of an evacuation.

NOTES FROM MEETING CARBON CANYON FIRE SAFE COUNCIL –
February 3, 2010

The February Fire Safe Council meeting was held at the Western Hills Country Club with 46 people in attendance. Of these 20 were members of the Carbon Canyon Fire Safe Council. The room was set up with an impressive interactive display of fire and ember resistive building materials, tables with up to date information on preparedness and the work status of the Carbon Canyon Hazard Mitigation grant. Refreshments were provided by CCFSC members and available along the far wall of the room.

The meeting opened at 7:15 p.m. with a welcoming of all attendees and a special welcome with introduction of a representative from Supervisor Gary Ovitt’s office, Chino Hills City council members, Chino Valley Fire Board members, Chino Hills City Manager, Chino Hills Director of Neighborhood Services, representatives from CALFIRE, CVFD station 64 B shift and Chiefs Benson, Turner and CALFIRE Chief McKain.

CVFD Chief Paul Benson spoke regarding the Fire Safe Council and introduced Chief McKain who spoke briefly before awarding the FIREWISE Communities/USA® recognition to the Carbon Canyon Fire Safe Council. Chairman Bob Bacin stepped forward to accept the award on behalf of the Fire Safe Council. This was then followed by a presentation of certificates to the Fire Safe Council by the offices of Senator Curt Hagman, San Bernardino County Supervisor Gary Ovitt and the City of Chino Hills. Group photographs and a series of lectures introducing the Chino Valley Fire Districts READY! SET! GO! program rounded out the meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
