a. Ingress/Egress – Big Springs Road and Hogan Drive ....... J. Lea
Finalized drawings and redesigned plans submitted to County for approval, new design requires additional easements Supervisor Hoy contacted asked to have County share in costs of improvements to Big Springs Road. Benefit of improvements to Big Springs will be enjoyed by all constituents using the road way. County road department will be consulted regarding a potential temporary roadway at the BS/HD location. To be used as a stopgap until the permanent road way can be installed.
b. Evacuation Plan Update (Review Draft Plan).................J. Lea / M. Murphy / M. Montreuil
The draft plan was reviewed by council members and given good marks. The plan needs some updating but overall is sound. The need for a tri-fold brochure for distribution to homeowners was discussed a brochure from Mt Shasta was reviewed and efforts to develop and distribute a similar brochure in Lake Shastina are being evaluated.
Board of Supervisors has allocated 23K dollars to Office of Emergency Services to develop and publish an up to date countywide plan. Contact is John Villani head of Siskiyou OES.
c. Volunteer Fire Department Roster.............. Fire Chief Montreuil
Due to the start of fire season and CDF hiring LSVFD is currently down to 6 on the active roster.
d. Update County-wide Impact Fee.................Fire Chief Montreuil
The county board of supervisors convened an all day workshop in early July to discuss fire service. Marcia Armstrong Siskiyou County Supervisor hosted the meeting designed identify and discuss countywide and local Fire service issues. Funding is a key component of any plan and the proposed “Impact Fee”
could provide a much needed source. Work on the practical aspects of administering and allocating funds to various FD’s and agencies is ongoing.

Requirements development and engineering study underway.
f. Juniper Trees................................................. J. Lea
CC&R’s are currently under review for clarifications of ECC authority and obligations regarding Juniper Trees with potential changes to current “Free Removal” program and incorporation of
new state code 1491 requirements.

Marcia Gifford volunteered to develop a draft mission statement based on the state FSC mission statement and provide her work to the council for comment and adoption at the August meeting.
