General Information
The Mountain Rim Fire Safe Council was initially formed in 1998. Our purpose, as stated in our by-laws and articles of incorporation is "to provide education, exchange information and foster fire prevention and safety within the San Bernardino Mountain communities." We are proud of our efforts to promote the expansion of fire safe councils within the San Bernardino mountains, across the Inland Empire and beyond. We have worked hand-in-hand with other local councils and agencies in addressing the critical issues impacting our communities.

Our General Council meetings are held on the first Wednesday of odd-numbered months at 6:30pm at our office at 26571 Hwy 18, Suite C, Rim Forest (between Don's Auto and the Elks Lodge). For information regarding our Council, please visit our website www.mtnrimfsc.org. All of our meetings are open to the public.

The Crest Forest Chapter holds its meetings on the first Tuesday of even-numbered months, 6:30pm, at Crest Forest Fire Station #25. In Running Springs/Arrowbear, the public is invited to chapter meetings on the third Friday of even-numbered months at 8:00am at the Arrowbear Lake Fire Department station on Hwy 18. Green Valley Lake holds Fire Safe Council meetings in conjunction with its Citizens for Disaster Preparedness on the second Saturday of each month at 10am at the Community Center.

Current Activities
Our Council is working on implementation of several projects with funds received from the Community-Based Wildfire Prevention grants and Community Development Block Grants. These include operating our community outreach office in Rim Forest, Community Chipper Days (in Crestline, Running Springs, Lake Arrowhead and Arrowbear Lake), fuel breaks in Crestline and Running Springs, Healthy Forest Demonstration sites in Lake Arrowhead, Crestline and Running Springs, senior assistance with weed abatement and much more.

In June 2004 we collaborated with CDF, So. Calif. Edison, San Manuel Indian Tribe and Natural Resources Conservation Service to produce our second "Living with Wildfire in the Inland Empire". You can call our office to receive a copy by mail.

For more information about our Council, please contact us via email or phone, or stop by our office on Hwy. 18 in Rim Forest.
